New boat dock at the lake

Greg and simmonds getting dock in place while Elias and Quinten (in the air) play on it.  Top pic is the first canoe launch.

Greg and Quinten with fellow scouter Elias and his dad came up last night a d over to the ranch today to build a new canoe launching dock. They have had a gorgeous 70+ day for it. They are already finished!
It was also fun to have them have lunch with us. Thursday, Friday and Saturdays are my days to cook all day. We had a perfect menu for them: chicken fajitas, quacamole, tomato salsa, ceviche and chips. We ate out at the picnic table next to the lodge.  Elder Allen, Greg and Simmonds putting the styrofoam into place while Jerry supervises.

More news from the ensign ranch

This is my first entry doing it on my own (Chloe pretty much did the last one). Hope this works!
The Ensign Ranch is definitely a great place to serve. We have 10 senior couples, 5 young elders and 3 interns (these are young women who are paid and are fulfilling university program requirements). They are all wonderful to work with. We keep the director extremely busy staying ahead of all the projects that are in the works.
This is the biggest crew ever with twice as many couples as have been there before.
There are 7 supporting stakes for the ranch and they come in the spring to do service projects.  Last weekend the Selah ( near Yakima) Stake came with over 200 people. A few of the projects accomplished were: painting at the boating area, wire brushing the horse pasture fence, clearing brush at one if the girls' camp area, sanding and putting a preservative on the 15 new handcarts (Jerry helped with that) and reroofing a couple of the family cabins (Bill was in charge of that).
It is a wonderful experience to be planted  in the middle if such uplifting activity. There is definitely a special spirit here at the Endign Ranch!

Getting started...

We have been service missionaries here at the Ensign Ranch in Cle Elum, WA for almost 2 months. Since Chloe has finally gotten me set up with a blog, I wanted to start sharing our experiences. This picture is of Elder Jerry grooming the horses here at the ranch. Watch for more to come.
